This was the worst meal I’ve had in 2 1/2 years in Phuket. The only good thing was the garlic bread and the cheese mashed potatoes. The steak was overcooked and flavorless. The lamb shank had so much pesto that I almost threw up after one bite. My girlfriend was gagging after eating it. Then, after not eating our meals and asking for the check, the waitress didn’t bother to ask if anything was wrong with the food…I don’t expect to get anything for free, but I at least expect to talk to a manager when plates go back to the kitchen 95% full.
By far the best steak I’ve had on the island. I’ve tried pretty much everywhere, and with the exception of Supper Club, I’m always disappointed. Not last night though. I had the bone in ribeye and is was really superb. Cooked perfectly (very hard to get mid-rare done right in thailand), seasoned perfectly and the horseradish mashed potatoes were exceptional. The others I was with all thought the same, two had steaks and one the ribs. The ribs were really very good as well. I will definitely go back. Think my steak was around 800baht which I found to be very reasonable given the size (looked to be 500gm at least) and the quality. The free salad bar was much better than I’d expect for it being free. My only complaints are the house wine which wasn’t very good (got nice bottle instead for 1000) and the service which was very friendly but a bit slow. I’ve definitely found my new place for steaks in phuket.
